What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting a person’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. At Skills Edge Training, safeguarding involves preventing and protecting individuals from harm, abuse, or neglect.

We believe that every individual, especially vulnerable adults and young people, should never experience abuse of any kind. We are dedicated to promoting the welfare of all our learners and ensuring their safety.

Who Are Vulnerable Adults and Young People?

  • Children and Young People: Anyone under 18 years of age.
  • Vulnerable Adults: Individuals over 18 who have care and support needs, are at risk of abuse or neglect, and are unable to protect themselves due to their care and support needs.

Learners

As a learner, you have the right to feel safe and supported at Skills Edge. If you ever feel unsafe or are concerned about someone else's safety, please reach out to our safeguarding team. We are here to help you, listen to your concerns, and take necessary actions to ensure your wellbeing.

Employers

Employers play a crucial role in safeguarding our learners. By being aware of our safeguarding policy, you can help create a safe environment for our learners. If you notice any signs of abuse or neglect, or if a learner confides in you about such issues, please report it to our safeguarding team immediately.

Skills Edge must have arrangements in place for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all learners, which is set out in our Safeguarding Policy. Safeguarding topics are an integral part of every learner’s curriculum through My World Matters.
