If you are an employer considering integrating apprenticeships into your workforce development strategy, there are various steps a business must complete before they can start to recruit apprentices or use the apprenticeship programme to support the progression of existing staff.

Employer Onboarding Process Overview

The below sets out the steps an employer will move through to enable them to enrol apprentices with Skills Edge.

Employer Registration

Following a meeting with Skills Edge and agreement to proceed with the apprenticeship programme, your next step will be to complete the necessary registration steps and documents required to enable your business to enrol apprentices.

Upon completion you will be sent two documents for your review and signature:

  • Service Level Agreement
  • Health and Safety

Once these have been reviewed and signed, the Skills Edge registration is completed.  

 

The Apprenticeship Service

The Apprenticeship Service is a Government digital portal used to secure apprenticeship funding, manage your apprenticeship programmes and advertise vacancies. All organisations will need to be registered on the system in order to enrol apprentices.

Providing Permissions
