The Prevent strategy is a key part of the UK’s counter-terrorism framework, aiming to prevent individuals from becoming involved in terrorism or supporting it. Prevent Principles

Our Prevent Policy is built on several core principles:

  • Creating a Safe Environment: We strive to maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive learning and working environment.
  • Zero Tolerance for Extremism: Extremist behaviour is not tolerated in our community.
  • Protecting Learners: We recognise the risks posed by extremist materials and influences and take steps to protect our learners from potential harm.
  • Challenging Extremist Views: We actively challenge extremist views to safeguard our community.
  • Incorporating Prevent Duty: Our approach aligns with legislative requirements, ensuring that we do not stifle legitimate debate or discriminate based on protected characteristics​​.
