A paraplanner works closely with financial advisors, however the two roles are distinctly different. Paraplanners are non-client facing; they provide the research, analysis, and reporting needed in order to effectively make recommendations to clients. The role of paraplanner is of paramount importance and historically they have always been in high demand.

By passing the apprenticeship, professional registration can be achieved by application to the relevant Professional Body, with recognised status as follows: ‘Cert PFS (Paraplanning)’ with the Chartered Insurance Institute or ‘Accredited Paraplanner (APP)’ with the Institute of Financial Planning.
