Working in the beauty industry is a rewarding and fulfilling role, helping others feel the best they can be from a spa, salon, or health club.
As a beauty therapist you will be responsible for administering a range of treatments to clients of the salon, as well as performing a front of house role.
There are 3 routes an apprentice can choose from within beauty therapy:
Manicure – To be able to carry out manicure services
Pedicure – To be able to carry out pedicure services
Waxing – To be able to carry out waxing services
Enhance the appearance of eyebrows and lashes – To be able to carry out waxing services
Health and safety – to be aware of the possible dangers in the salon
Promote additional services or produces to clients – Be able to communicate with the client and have the confidence to recommend services and/or products.
Extras that can be added are:
Fulfil salon reception duties – the candidate will demonstrate the ability to answer the telephone, book clients in and welcome guest and to deal with difficult clients.
Carry out ear piercing – To be able to carry out ear piercing services
Provide make-up services – To be able to carry out ear make-up services
Enhance appearance using skin camouflage
Assist with spa operations
To be professional to clients – have a friendly and helpful nature when talking to clients
Timekeeping – To be able to show good time keeping skills which will aid them in the future for keeping appointments.
All our apprenticeships are delivered through blended learning techniques. This means there will be a mixture of self-studying, theory delivered by your tutor either online or in person, a series of one-off webinars followed up with seminars delivered by our carefully selected ‘sector experts’. Our e-portfolio software allows you to access your work and view your progress at any time, from any device.
